Well, at Smugglers' Notch everything you need for a fabulous winter family vacation is right outside your doorstep. Because the Resort is a self contained Village, you can park your car and not ever worry about needing it. Plus, the staff at Smugglers' prides itself on making every guest feel welcome, providing excellent service, and first class knowledge. In addition the renowned Children's Programs are second to none and are sure to instill in your little one a love of skiing, riding, and of course having fun!

 

The Mountain Stats:

 

3 Big Interconnected Mountains with an average annual snowfall of 24 feet- Madonna, Sterling & Morse (including Morse Highlands) - all 3 mountains are interconnected by lifts and trails.

•  Over 1,000 acres of terrain with a 2610 foot vertical rise- Consisting of trails and wooded glades, novice slopes, groomed cruisers, bump runs, steeps, terrain parks, half pipe and race courses.

•  78 Trails - Over 27 miles of skiing and riding enjoyment with a variety of learning terrain (19%) primarily on Morse, intermediate trails and glades (50%) on all three mountains and expert runs on Madonna and Sterling (31%) that challenge the best including: The Fab Five - Five exciting Black Diamonds and The Black Hole - The only Triple Black Diamond in the East!

•  58 km of cross-country and snowshoe trails - The Nordic Center boasts 34 km of cross-country trails and 24 km of dedicated snowshoe trails through woods and fields.

•  62% Snowmaking Coverage - Enough to blanket all 3 mountains from top to bottom.
•  Terrain Parks- The Zone, Log Jam, and Birch Run are all available for freestyle needs!
•  Over 750 acres of Glades - Featuring 22 marked glades for all abilities. New areas just added last winter.

 


 

Children's Programs & Lessons:

 

Treasures Child Care:


Daycare for children 6 weeks of age to 3 years. First class child care amenities (like radiant floor heating, age appropriate activities, and super convenient for parents. They even have a program for your little 2 1/2 to 3 year old, Little Rascals on Snow, which lets them get familiar with ski equipment and snow at their own pace and under careful guidance from staff. Parents can watch while their little skier has fun on the Magic Carpet.

 

 

Programs for Ages 3yrs - 10yrs old:

Discovery Dynamos and Adventure Rangers are the different groups your child will be in depending on their specific age. Each program consists of a structured day with supervised instruction and teaching techniques depending on age, lunch, off slope activities. Available for skiing or snowboarding- skiing starts at age 3, snowboarding at age 4. Your 6-10 year old Adventure Ranger will love their day of learning and discovering! Half hour lessons are also available.

 

Programs for Ages 11yrs - 15yrs old:

The Notch Squad is great for your child whether they are a beginner or an advanced skier or snowboarder. They have activities and instruction for all levels, and the best part is, your child will be out there, on the slopes learning and improving with coaching and instruction. Full Day Notch Squad Camp available. Hour and half hour lessons are also available.


Programs for Ages 16yrs - 17yrs old:

Mountain Explorers is a great way for your teen to get out there with kids of their own age and ability level Meeting every day at 1pm, they'll explore the three mountains or hang out at one of the Terrain Parks. There are also many other organized events for your teens to enjoy. Off the slopes and after hours snowshoeing, ice skating, cross country skiing, basketball, and swimming are among the choices. Or check out Teen Alley, Outer Limits Teen Center and of course the Fun Zone. Ever boarded at night, under the lights? Well then you're missing out- The Night School for Boarding is a must! Private lessons, guides, and terrain park private sessions available.

 


 

Indoor Pool & Hot Tubs

 

Located next to the Fun Zone Family Entertainment & Activity Center and the Nordic Ski & Snowshoe Adventure Center you will find the indoor pool, two hot tubs, and locker room facilities.

 


Indoor Activities

 

 

Fun Zone Family Entertainment Center:

Winter indoor fun at its best- no one is bored and everyone is happy! Indoor miniature golf and an arcade are just the tip of the iceberg here folks. Try the crawl-through Morphy, the 22-foot Giant Double Lane Slide, or the 45 foot giant obstacle course for starters. Then move on to the Bouncy House, the Kid Wall, and a 2 person fidget ladder. Happy kids = Happy parents.

 

Teen Alley and Outer Limits Teen Centers:

Mini golf doesn't do it for your teenager? Well no worries because they're sure to find what they want at one of these two teen hangouts. Teen alley will entice your 13 to 15 year old in a supervised environment with internet access, Xbox, Wii, and other fun stuff. Outer Limits is for the more in dependant 16+ year old looking for some freedom with the same activities as Teen Alley. Both Centers have evening events that are not to be missed!

 

 

Winter Walking:

It's more than it sounds like! Take a break from the slopes and explore the Resort and surrounding area on foot. Guided tours that range from an easy walk to an adventurous trek. Learn about the area along the way, get a wicked good work out, and explore the "Notch"!

 

 

Airboarding:

Oh Boy- this involves an inflated sled- many would call a water raft- they are light and easy to control. Trails are designed specifically for them and before you get any "air" you will need to take a short clinic showing you how it's done. Good luck!

 

 


 

Outdoor Activities

 

 

Tubing and Ice Skating:

Enjoy tubing on Sir Henry's HIll after the lifts close, tubes provided by the Resort. Ice Skating is outdoors and located next to the Nordic Ski & Snowshoe Adventure Center.

 

Snowmobile Tours and Dog Sledding Tours:

No experience necessary, helmets provided. Private tours and evening tours available. Discover the amazing VAST trail system. Dogsled tours offered off-site through Eden Mountain Dog Sledding. Wander through the scenic woods guided by beautiful Alaskan Huskies.

Restaurants and Lounges

 

 

Smugglers' Notch has a dining option for every type of palette. Choose from casual cafeteria-style eateries to full-service restaurants. The Morse Mountain Grille & Pub, Riga-Bello's Pizzeria featuring Italian specialties, and fine dining at The Hearth & Candle are your main options. Or choose breakfast and lunch from The Green Mountain Deli or you-know-what from Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop.

Smugglers' features three lodges that you can choose from as your home base for the day. Each contains a variety of dining options and mountain services designed to compliment your experience and help you enjoy the slopes. These lodges are open throughout the Winter season based on lift operation schedules.
